A friend and loyal Chicago Cubs fan sent me a link to an article which told about a couple whose last name was Fields, and who had just named their newborn "Wrigley" in honor of the team. Horrible name for a child, that. So, I thought it might be a fun TT to see what other unusual names exist.

2. 4real was the name New Zealand parents attempted to give their child. They were told that numerals were not allowed. The parents are debating this law and, if no name had been registered by July 9, the boy will be legally named Superman; friends and family will call him "4real".
3. Fifi Trixibelle Geldof, daughter of Bob Geldof and Paula Yates.
4. Zowie Bowie is the son of David Bowie.
5. Armand Hammer (May 21, 1898 – December 10, 1990) was a Jewish-United States industrialist and art collector.
6. A member of Ohio's 5694th National Guard Unit in Mansfield legally changed his name to a Transformers toy, Optimus Prime.
7. An Israeli computer programmer has made a name for himself by changing his surname to ".com". The former Tomer Krissi, 25, who works for a hi-tech company, now has the same name as his website: tomer.com.
8. It's not that a name like Apple Martin (Gwenyth Paltrow's daughter) stands out among celebrity children anymore. The director Peter Farrelly plucked that very name for his daughter before Apple Martin came along. Even that name seems drab compared with Hollywood baby names such as Pilot Inspektor, cooked up by Jason Lee, the star of "My Name Is Earl"; or Banjo, the inspiration of the "Six Feet Under" star Rachel Griffiths; or Moxie CrimeFighter, a name chosen last year by the comedian and magician Penn Jillette for his daughter.
9. Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has named her baby Bluebell Madonna. The singer also known as Ginger Spice, 33, said she'd been inspired by seeing the spring flowers during her pregnancy.
10. Jennifer 8. Lee adopted her unusual middle name in her teens, because Chinese custom sees the number 8 as a symbol of prosperity.
11. Ten Million (1889-1964) was a baseball player who played for various teams in the Northwestern League.
12. Vista Avalon is the legal name given to Microsoft MVP Bil Simser's daughter born May 18th, 2007 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Vista is the name of Microsoft's operating system, released in 2007. Avalon is the codename given to Microsoft's Windows Presentation Foundation, part of the .NET 3.0 framework.
13. Dick Assman (born ca. 1934 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada) is a Saskatchewan gas station owner whose name propelled him to celebrity status across North America in 1995. Assman, who worked at Petro-Canada's Victoria Square Mall station in Regina, was discovered by David Letterman, who was amused by his name. Assman was lavishly introduced on July 24, 1995, on The Late Show with David Letterman, where he was a nightly feature for about a month.
